No, it really isn’t. By offering productivity, administration, and other powerful tools, we offer much, much more. Here are a few features in OutsideView that no other NonStop terminal emulator offers:
Clone Session. Have you ever needed another instance of your host sessions? OutsideView lets you duplicate a session with just a few clicks.
Identity Management. You no longer have to enter your host credentials repetitively. OutsideView can securely cache your host credentials in memory, and automatically re-apply them as needed, even across multiple hosts, multiple sessions, and multiple credential pairs.
.Net API. You now have the choice of our proprietary Visual Comm Basic macro language, or use of any .NET compatible language to extend your control over your NonStop host sessions. For more information click here.
Find function. When you are viewing large logs and other files, OutsideView’s FIND function makes it easier to look back through your display buffer (of up to 9999 lines).
Download and Edit. Right-click host files to have them automatically opened in OutsideView’s imbedded color-coded, syntax-aware code editor. You are prompted to automatically upload any changes you make. An Edit Monitor even warns against leaving OutsideView before uploading any local edits.
Enhanced Failover capabilities. Configure host session files with alternate host:port locations. Also, configure the Enterprise resource ‘hub’ with automatic alternate nodes.
Host-to-Host Transfers. Move files laterally between active File Transfer sessions.
Multiple Host Uploads. It’s now easier to distribute files to multiple systems; merely open multiple file transfer sessions, and you may send a file to any or all such connections in a single process.
Concurrent Licensing. Instead of buying one license for every potential user, now buy the number of licenses needed to support maximum simultaneous use.
Centralized Configuration control. Configure user’s sessions in a single, central location, knowing your end-users will automatically synchronize with such changes, avoiding the need to ‘push’ updates and changes.
Enhanced Logging. A detailed, auto-hide log extends your awareness of session activities, while added logic will automatically resolve any naming conflicts when opening multiple copies of logged sessions.
