NonStop SSL (NSSL)

If you're concerned about the privacy of the data residing on your NonStop system, Crystal Point's new Security Suite is your solution.

The NSSL executes as a native Guardian process to provide SSL/TLS connectivity for NonStop systems. Server authentication is provided via the standards defined for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Signed server certificates from trusted authorities such as Verisign®, can be used with NSSL. To generate and manage your own certificates, tools for creating both the server and Certificate Authority (CA) certificates are delivered by a lightweight HTTP server process started from the NSSL program.

Server authentication is provided through two methods:

  • Validation of the certificates received against the local browser certificate store
  • Validation of the root CA certificate fingerprint

Root CA certificates can be verified through Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP).

OutsideView supports a comprehensive range of cipher suites and easy configuration for OCSP certificate validation.
