Crystal Point EDS in $93.7 million Arkansas Medicaid Contract
Pact Continues Arkansas' 19-year Relationship with EDS as Fiscal Agent
Little Rock , Ark. - Crystal Point has been selected by EDS, the nation's leader in healthcare services, to provide the web-enabling technology within a $93.7 million contract between EDS and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) for managing the state's Medicaid program, which pays for medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources. The contract, with options, covers seven years and extends a 19-year relationship between EDS and the State of Arkansas .
Crystal Point, the leader in NonStop connectivity, will assist EDS in web-enabling, securing and enhancing their mainframe based Medicaid application. Crystal Point's AppViewXS product will permit EDS to quickly migrate the Medicaid application to a secure web-accessed environment, without changes to the underlying host application.
Chris Smith , CEO of Crystal Point says, "We congratulate EDS on being awarded this contract and have enjoyed working with their team. We ourselves are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with EDS in enabling the State of Arkansas' Medicaid program to make their services more secure, more readily available over the web, while also gaining a more intuitive, modern interaction with their users. As our customers bring more and more of their products and services to the web, they need faster and easier access to information that already resides on legacy systems. I know there are other vendors trying to address these needs, but no one else can do it as rapidly and easily - and without requiring programming services."
Since 1986 Crystal Point has been recognized as the worldwide leader of PC-to-host connectivity software for NonStop systems. Crystal Point developed the original Tandem terminal emulator (TTE) sold exclusively by Tandem. Over the past decades, Crystal Point enhanced this product's original functionality and evolved it into its flagship product, OutsideView. OutsideView is used by more Tandem installations than any other terminal emulation product. Today, it is an integral part of the system console that is shipped with every NonStop system sold.
